Where did you grow up and how did it influence your writing? 

I grew up in Johannesburg where I found reading an escape which influenced me to write.

When did you first begin writing?

In primary school

What is your latest work and what is it about?

It’s about terrorism, influenced by personal incidents. I am busy with my third novel.

Do you have any other published books and what are they?

I now have two published novels. Misty Mountain and Black Waters.

What do your readers mean to you?

I hope they feel the same thrill from reading my book as I do.

How do you spend your time when not writing?

Walking on the beach and yoga.

Can you remember the first story/poem that you read and what effect did it have on you?

A sense of accomplishment and pride.

Do you remember the first story/poem you ever wrote?

Yes, at school. My headmaster inspired me.

Where do you get your inspiration from

Both headmasters urged me to write.

Reading takes you to places and circumstances that you may never go to find elsewhere
